"Tis said, London and New York take the nonsense out of a man. " Ralph Waldo Emerson

Yeah! We went to London! More specifically, I went to London!

I went to a College where going abroad for a year or a semester wasn't something that a lot of people did. In fact, I can think of 3 people that went away for one semester Junior year and I thought that they were crazy. I only had eight semesters in College, I could not imagine giving one of them up!

Thankfully, twenty plus years later, my world is a little bigger. A few years ago I went on a Tudor, Middle Ages reading frenzy and I have been dying to see London ever since. Tom had to work there a couple of days, it was a bank holiday, it was time. And it was great. I loved it!

The Tower of London, the place I most wanted to see.

The Tower Bridge

The London Wall

The Rainforest Cafe - deplorable food, the boys loved it!

The phone booth shot. I had to.

10 Downing Street- may have a new occupant soon.

Westminster Abbey

Preparing to change the guard

This is where the Queen lives!

The Princess Diana Memorial Fountain

The Princess Diana Memorial Playground- really amazing

This is a Pirate ship on the South Bank. It was closed, but I was so glad to see the neighborhood that it's in- Southwark I think

London Aquarium

The three party leaders - Election Day was May 6th. It resulted in a hung Parliament. At the time of this writing the Prime Minister is undetermined. The boys loved the giant head balloons though!

I had no idea that there once was a Clink Prison!

We really covered a LOT of ground. OK, I would have gone into a lot of old churches if I did not have the buggy. That's OK because I know that I will be back!

  1. Looks like you guys had a GREAT time and I'm sorry we missed you! We'll have to plan something in the near future either here in London or in Dublin! We've been to Ireland twice in 2010 but not to Dublin!
